War Princess put her hand up to be counted for Saturday's NZB Kiwi when she galloped in great style at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.

Fast work was a few metres out from the rail on the course proper, on the plough or on the synthetic track.

War Princess, trained by the Didham partnership, had Mike Breslin-trained Intention for a partner when using the course proper right-handed late in the session.

The pair reeled off 1000m in 1.7.2, with the final 800m taking 50.6, the last 600 in 35.7, and both trainers were delighted with the work.

War Princess won the Eulogy Stakes at Trentham before Christmas and finished a meritorious fourth in the Karaka Million 3YO last start, albeit nearly nine lengths from the winner Well Written.

Intention, freshened since being unplaced in the 2000 Guineas, will likely resume at New Plymouth on Saturday.

Sloshed and unraced three-year-old filly Alpine Princess (by Anders) lost no kudos this morning with their 800m in 49.7, the last 600 in 35.9. Alpine Princess finished second at the Foxton trials two weeks ago.

Platinum Attack, in Saturday's King's Plate (1200m), worked right-handed on his own and did not disappoint with 1000m in 1.4.5, the last 600 in 36.5. Wingman and Sweetest Thing went right-handed as well, ending with 36.8.

Maiden gelding Donatello, trained by Ashley Meadows, and unraced three-year-old filly Sapphire (by Sweynesse) ran 1000m in 1.8.1, the last 600 in 36.7. Sapphire is trained by Matthew Eales. Maiden filly Darci Dior was another to earn admirers with her 1000m in 1.12.7, the last 600 in 36.8, but she is racing below par.

Hard Too Think, in at New Plymouth, skipped over 800m in 50.7, the last 600 in 36.2, and his stablemate Idyllic, narrowly beaten last start, posted 52 seconds even and 36.9.

Keeping Time was another to work alone, covering 1000m in 1.5.8, the last 600 in 37.8, while her stablemates Port Chalmer and Ocean Melody went together in 1.8.2 and 37.5.

Kawakawa was timed 800m in 52.2, the last 600 in 37.1, and stablemate Dazz, both likely runners at New Plymouth, took 52.6 and 37.9. She's A Weapon and Merrilegs went 53.1 and 37.6, while Pinafore and Sax Appeal ended with 37.5.

Unraced three-year-old filly Assists, who has been going well at the trials, and stablemate May Wirth cut out 1000m in 1.11.4, the last 600 in 38.1, while Ribella Rose and Bantry took 1.11.9 and 39.9.

Auckland Cup runner Manzor Blue and Our Sniper were paired over 1000m in 1.13.3, the last 600 in 38.8, while Vahvay and Shameless Star clocked 1.16.3 and 40.9.

On the plough, Ima Brazen One was timed 800m in 51.3, the last 600 in 36.4, and her stablemates Sevenayes and Kereti, working together, ended with 38.9.

Keepitinyourwallet, not seen since November, and Dapper Dan ran 800m in 53.1, the last 600 in 38.3, and Redana recorded 54.2 and 38.6.

Super Gold did a quiet round before galloping 1000m in 1.8.3, the last 600 in 40.4, while East End Lad and unraced two-year-old Mac Attack (by Harry Angel) ended with 600m in 40.6.

Unraced two-year-old Watershed (by Bivouac) and an Ocean Park filly, both trained by Mike Breslin, ran 800m in 56.7, the last 600 in 42.2, and stablemate Pleasing ended with 42.7.

On the synthetic track, High Rock, Madame Labeel and a Ribchester filly, all trained by Roydon Bergerson, ran 800m together in 54.9, the last 600 in 39 seconds even.
