Terms and Conditions of Entry, Ticketing and Hospitality

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before purchasing tickets or attending an event hosted by RACE Trentham or RACE Awapuni. By purchasing a ticket, hospitality package, or entering the venue, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

 



1. Definitions

1.1
“RACE” means Racing at Awapuni and Trentham Combined Enterprise Incorporated.
 
1.2
“Venue” means either Trentham Racecourse or Awapuni Racecourse, as specified on the ticket or event information.
 
1.3
“Tickets and Hospitality Packages” includes general admission tickets, member access, hospitality packages, reserved spaces, dining experiences and any other products or services sold by RACE for an event.

 



2. Bookings & Purchases

2.1
All bookings are subject to availability and are not confirmed until full payment has been received.
 
2.2
Tickets and Hospitality Packages are non-refundable once purchased, except where required under New Zealand consumer law or at the sole discretion on RACE.
 
2.3
Ticket may not be resold for commercial gain or used in promotional activity without prior written approval from RACE.

 



3. Payment 

3.1
Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed by RACE in writing.
 
3.2
All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless otherwise stated.
 
3.3
Hospitality packages that include food and beverage service are only valid for the specified service period.
 
3.4
RACE accepts no responsibility for missed package inclusions due to late arrival.
 
3.5
Additional food and beverages outside of package inclusions must be paid for at the time of purchase.

 



4. Health and Safety

4.1
All patrons must comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and follow any instructions given by RACE staff, contractors, security personnel or emergency services.
 
4.2
Racecourses are active venues. Horses, vehicles, temporary infrastructure and uneven ground may present hazards.
 
4.3

Patrons enter restricted or horse movement areas at their own risk and only when authorised.

 



5. Alcohol & Venue Conduct

5.1
RACE operates under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and reserves the right to refuse service or entry to any person.
 
5.2
Intoxicated, disorderly or anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the Venue without refund.
 
5.3
BYO alcohol is strictly prohibited unless expressly permitter by RACE for a designated area or event.
 
5.4
All patrons may be subject to bag checks, ID checks or security screening upon entry.
 
5.5
RACE reserves the right to confiscate prohibited items or refuse entry where necessary.

 



6. Dress Standards

6.1
Dress standards apply to certain hospitality areas and events.
 
6.2
RACE reserves the right to refuse entry to any person deemed not suitably attired for the relevant area or event.

 



7. Photography & Media

7.1
Photography, filming and live broadcasting may occur at the Venue.
 
7.2
By entering the Venue, patrons consent to the use of their image, likeness or voice by RACE, New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing and approved partners for promotional and marketing purposes without compensation.

 



8. Tickets & Entry

8.1
Tickets may be presented electronically or in printed format.
 
8.2
Tickets must be retained and produced upon request at all times while onsite.
 
8.3
A ticket grants access only to the areas specified on the ticket.
 
8.4
Lost, stolen, damaged or unauthorised  tickets may be cancelled or refused entry at the discretion of RACE.
 
8.5
RACE reserves the right to deny entry where ticket authenticity cannot be verified.

 



9. Conditions of Entry

9.1
RACE reserves the right to refuse entry to, or remove from the Venue, any person who:

  • breaches these terms and conditions;
  • behaves in a disruptive, offensive or unsafe manner;
  • is intoxicated or under the influence of drugs;
  • fails to comply with instructions from staff or security;
  • enters restricted areas without permission; or
  • poses a risk to the safety or enjoyment of others.

 
9.2
Any person removed from the Venue will not be entitled to a refund.
 
9.3
Management decisions are final.

 



10. Event Changes, Cancellation & Force Majeure

10.1
Events may be altered, delayed, postponed or cancelled due to weather, track conditions, safety concerns, regulatory requirements or other circumstances beyond RACE’s control.
 
10.2
RACE is not responsible for travel, accommodation or ancillary costs incurred by patrons.
 
10.3
Where an event is postponed, RACE may choose to honour tickets for the rescheduled date or provide an alternative remedy at its discretion.
 
10.4
Programmes, entertainment, menus, seating layouts and advertised inclusions are subject to change without notice.
 
10.5
Outdoor hospitality areas remain operational in most weather conditions unless deemed unsafe.

 



11. Liability

11.1
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RACE excludes all liability for loss, damage, injury or expense suffered by any person attending the Venue.
 
11.2
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights a consumer may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986.

 



12. Privacy

12.1
RACE may collect and store personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
 
12.2
Information provided during ticket purchases may be used for event  communication, marketing and customer research by RACE and New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing.

 



13. Non-Raceday Events

13.1
Certain non-raceday events hosted at the Venue may operate under separate event-specific terms and conditions.
 
13.2
Where separate terms apply, they will be provided on the relevant evet page or ticketing platform.
