Fast work was held on the extreme outside of the course proper, with poor light early then squally showers hindering the timing of some gallops.

Bradman ended his work with 600m in 34.7, and recorded the same time the previous Tuesday when galloping in company. He was the only horse to break 36 seconds this morning.

Redana, who continues to work solidly, ran 1000m in 1.4.8, the last 600 in 36.3, and she is knocking on the door for an overdue success.

Pleasing covered 1000m in 1.5.2, the last 600 in 36.4, following up from a Foxton trial win two weeks ago. She has not raced since the spring, but will go well fresh.

John Doe went 1000m in 1.5.6, the last 600 in 36.2 and, despite not having raced for nearly seven weeks, should give plenty of cheek at Hawera on Friday.

Omega Boy, unlucky in the Awapuni Gold Cup last start, and Merrilegs went 1000m together in 1.6.2, the last 600 in 36.7.

Thrilling and Platinum Sixty Six were paired over 1000m in 1.7.7, the last 600 in 36.9, while Too Sweet and unraced three-year-old filly Lalume (by Almanzor) clocked 1.7.8 and 36.7.

Keeping Time and unraced four-year-old Sky Hawk (by Vadamos) left 800m behind in 51.1, the last 600 in 36.8, while The Scunner and stablemate Manuka Rush posted 52.3 and 36.2.

Amiria worked alone over 1000m in 1.6.6, the last 600 in 37 seconds even, while Tokyodome and unraced stablemate Mendacious (by Nadeem) clocked 1.7.5 and 37.5.

Damiano, who has won three of his last four, and Coney Island ran 1000m in 1.7.7, the last 600 in 37.2, while their stablemates Ocean Melody and Starpello recorded 1.7.7 and 37.5.

Shameless Star had Lucullan for a partner over 1000m in 1.8.1, the last 600 in 37.7, followed soon after by Brutiful Lass and Platinum Pantheon in 1.8.2 and 37.3.

Anderson Bridge had Bruno Queiroz aboard over 1000m in 1.9.2, the last 600 in 37.2, and McKhan took 1.10.9 and 37.2.
