Fast work during a very quiet gallop session was held on the middle of the course proper or on the plough.

Shameless Star, who is entered for the $70,000 Winter Series Final (3yo 1400m), worked right-handed with stablemate Victortheinflictor over 1000m in 1.7.2, the last 600 in 36.8.

The filly has won three of her last four starts, including a Wanganui three-year-old sprint at Wanganui (1340m) by more than three lengths last start. Saturday's race will be her first attempt at the metric mile.

Her stablemates Can Do and Subtle Image worked right-handed as well, and covered 1000m together in 1.7.1, the last 600 in 37.4. Can Do will travel to Ellerslie on Saturday as well, his target being the $70,000 Winter Series Progressive Final (1600m). 

These were the only two gallops on the course proper.

On the plough, Friday's Woodville acceptors Galeforce (mdn 1400m No 2) and Keepz Occurring (mdn 2100m) took the eye with their 1000m in 1.5.2, with the final 800m taking 49.7, the last 600 in 36.9.

The Liquidator had trainer Leon Mudgway aboard over a quiet 800m in 58.1, the last 600 in 41.6. The son of War Decree is in the r60 mile No 1, and second ballot for the Woodville-Pahiatua Cup (r75 2100m).
