Platinum Attack continued his preparation for the NZ Cup carnival next week with a top gallop at Awapuni on Thursday morning.

Fast work was held against the rail on the new course proper, where not all horses could be timed because of the large numbers

The plough was in use as well, with just one gallop clocked on the synthetic track.

Platinum Attack was one of several horses to use the course proper and galloped with stablemate Knickerless over 1000m in 1.1.6, the last 600 in 35.8.

Thrilling and Keeping Time, two more from the Latta stable, covered 1000m in 1.4.2, the last 600 in 36.9, while French Doll, who resumes on Saturday, and Kereti, both from the Breslin barn, came up with 1.5.1 and 36.4.

Brutiful Lass worked on her own over 1000m in 1.7.1, the last 600 in 36.5, followed soon after by Our Giulia and Jacobite Rising together in 1.7.7 and 36 seconds even.

War Princess, heading to Tauranga on Saturday, and Omega Boy (Tauherenikau) were paired over 1000m right-handed, clocking 1.10.2 for 1000m and increasing the tempo as they went to finish with 600m in 36.1. First Gear, trained by the Gray partnership, ended with 36.8.

Reign It In was a few lengths ahead of stablemate Wonderboy after 1000m in 1.7.7, the last 600 in 37.8, while Bryce Newman-trained pair of Only The Lonely and two-year-old Tifosi (by Super Seth) ran 1000m in 1.11.2, the last 600 in 37.4. Tifosi won a Foxton trial last week.

Bold Belle was timed 800m in 52.6, the last 600 in 37.4, and Idyllic required 53.1 and 37.3. Her stablemates Exaggeration and Yakattack went together in 53.2 and 37.1.

Popinjay and Rushin Home were sent 800m in 53.2, the last 600 in 37.4, and their stablemates Crouch (Feilding Cup) and Call A Friend took 53.4 and 37.6. Zackery and Furiosa were almost identical with 53.8 and 37.6.

Port Chalmer and unraced three-year-old filly Cremant (by Belardo) matched strides over 1000m in 1.7.8, the last 600 in 38.7, and their stablemates Hoorah Henry and Thanks Liz took 1.9.1 and 38 seconds even.

Testing and In The Air gathered speed from the 1000m (1.11.1) to finish with 600m in 38.8, while unraced three-year-old geldings Valentino (by Super Seth) and Golden Ace (by Ace High), both trained by the Grays, ran 800m in 52.3, the last 600 in 38.7.

Platinum Goddess and Platinum Tyche left 800m behind in 54.3, the last 600 in 38.4, and Sacred Pearl ended with 54.5 and 38.8. John Doe ran his last 600m in 38.1. The latter's stablemate Sloan Square clocked 39.2.

Our Sniper and unraced three-year-old Brian (by Rock 'n' Pop) were kept to 800m in 55.1, the last 600 in 39 seconds even.

Danjuro (Feilding Cup) and Can Do, who both worked solidly together on Tuesday, clocked 55.7 and 39.5 for 800m, and Jack Morrison took 55.6 and 39.1. Make Time recorded 57.9 and 39.9.

Sailor Jack (Feilding Cup) had co-trainer Hazel Fannin aboard over an even 1000m in 1.12.1, the last 600 in 40.2, while East End Lad, a Foxton trial winner last week, and Sevenayes ran 800m in 57 seconds even, the last 600 in 40.4.

Rogue Romance was not chasing the clock over 1000m in 1.13.3, the last 600 in 41.3.

On the plough, Newman-trained pair Street Appeal and Jazlene ended 800m with 600 in 37.7, as did Shockiff.

Belle's Charm required 53.2 for 800m, the last 600 in 38.8, while unraced three-year-olds Cassius The Colt (by Alamosa) and All In Navy (by U S Navy Flag), both with Mike Breslin, were kept to 56.1 and 40.6. Ribella Rose and Ocean Melody took 57.4 and 40.3.

On the synthetic track, Reservoir and unraced four-year-old Waititi (by Reliable Man) were timed 800m in 55.7, the last 600 in 40.4. They are with Roydon Bergerson.
