Cry Baby and Share Power on the synthetic track and Benefactor on the plough were the star track workers at Awapuni on Thursday morning.

Cry Baby and Share Power, both from the Deborah Parry barn, worked over a quiet lap and a half on the synthetic before galloping 800m in 50 seconds flat, the last 600 in 36.5.

Cry Baby capped off some previous good race form on the synthetic with an easy success at Awapuni two weeks ago in a r63 2140m, when still a maiden mare.

The Alamosa four-year-old returns to the synthetic at Awapuni this Sunday (r73 2140m), with apprentice jockey Amber Riddell claiming 2kg this time, instead of 3kg.

Riddell also rides Share Power (r60 1400m), who is well overdue for a winning turn.

Meanwhile, Victortheinflictor (r74 1400m) and last-start winner Wal were paired over 800m in 52.7, the last 600 in 38.6, and Kawatiri (r73 2140m), second last start, went 53.4 and 39.8.

The Precursor had co-trainer Hazel Fannin aboard over 1400m, being timed from the 1000m in 1.8.9, coming the final 800m in 54.3, the last 600 in 40.5.

Unraced three-year-old gelding Al Passo (by Alamosa) and unraced two-year-old filly Amiria (by Per Incanto) sprinted 600m in 40 seconds flat, and they are with Mike Breslin.

Manawatu Steeplechase acceptor Jesko did a quiet round before galloping 1000m in 1.10.5, with the final 800m taking 54.7, the last 600 in 41.5.

Last-start Trentham winner Sotirio covered 800m in 54.2, the last 600 in 41.1, and he returns to the champagne turf this Saturday (r75 1300m), with Leah Hemi again the rider.

Omega Boy, another last-start Trentham winner, was kept to an easy 800m in 55.7, the last 600 in 41.4, and he returns there on Saturday as well (r75 mile), with stable apprentice Toni Davies (3kg claim) engaged again.

Call A Friend (r65 mile) was timed 800m in 57 seconds flat, the last 600 in 41.3, and stablemate Kereti, who has not raced since the beginning of March, took 58.3 and 41.8.

On the plough, Benefactor (r75 mile) ran 1000m in 1.11 flat, increasing the tempo as she went to finish with 800m in 53.4, the last 600 in 38.7. She finished a close fifth when resuming last month and looks a big improver.

Manawatu Steeplechase rivals Super Spirit and Kentucky Boy did a quiet round before galloping 1000m in 1.6.3, coming the final 800m in 52.7, the last 600 in 39.1.

Their stablemates Super Flash and The Ugly Sister went 1.6.2 and 39.9, and Semper Magico, another from the Oulaghan barn, clocked 1.8.1 and 40.3.

Deadly Pony (r75 mile), down to resume on Saturday (r75 mile), ran 1000m in an easy 1.13.1, the last 600 in 41.5, and race rival Pinkerton posted 1.13.2 and 41.6.
