Latta stable front and centre
Members of Lisa Latta's team took most of the accolades at Awapuni on Tuesday morning, with Amazing Son and Portrush impressive.

Fast work was held on the extreme outside of the course proper, on the plough or on the synthetic track.

Amazing Son (A Riddell) and Portrush (J Riddell) used the course proper and reeled off 1000m in 1.4.7, with the final 800m taking 51.2, the last 600 in 36.4.

Amazing Son is fashioning a good record, with three wins and four seconds from his nine starts so far.

Starpello and Ocean Melody were paired over 1000m in 1.4.3, completing the final 800m in 51.5, the last 600 in 36.8.

Not to be denied, Carlow and Brutiful Lass went 1000m in 1.5.9, finishing with 800m in 52.1, the last 600 in 36.9. Amazing Son, Ocean Melody, Carlow and Brutiful Lass are all last-start winners from the Latta barn.

Their stablemate Belardo Boy (A Riddell) worked boldly over 1000m on his own, clocking 1.3.9 and 50.9, the last 600 in 37.7. The eight-year old has won 11 races, with the promise of more to come.

Knickerless and Redana matched strides over 1000m in 1.6.4, with the final 800m taking 51.2, the last 600 in 37.3, and Lumos Solem went with a maiden partner over the same distance in 1.5.7 and 52.3, the last 600 in 37.4.

Wonderboy and unraced four-year-old Rangitoto (by Reliable Man) were timed 1000m in 1.6.6, coming the final 800m in 53.2, the last 600 in 38.6.

Sax Appeal and Confide were locked together over 1000m in 1.7.6 and 53.4, the last 600 in 38.8, and Omega Boy did 800m in 55.7, the last 600 in 38.7.

A Preferment maiden and a Time Test maiden, both trained by Matthew Eales, ran 800m in 54.7, the last 600 in 39.1, and Ruby Rose went alone in 57.1 and 39.5. Breaker Bay and a Turn Me Loose maiden clocked 57.7 and 40.9.

Benefactor was not chasing the clock over 1000m in 1.8.3, the last 600 in 40.2, while his stablemates Cremant and Manzor Blue went together in 1.8.8 and 40.1. The Scunner ended with 40.3.

Unraced gelding Edison (by Staphanos) and a Wrote gelding, both trained by Mark Oulaghan, ran 1000m in 1.11.6, the last 600 in 40.2, while Baronies and May Wirth ended with 41.9.

On the plough, top mare Intention and unraced three-year-old Mac Attack (by Harry Angel) went 800m in 58.4, the last 600 in 41.8.

On the synthetic track, My Alibi sprinted 600m in 40.9.
