Too Sweet showed she was on target for a huge effort at Ellerslie on Saturday when she galloped at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.

Fast work was held on the synthetic track or on the plough.

Too Sweet used the synthetic track and had stablemate Wingman alongside over 1000m in 1.2.2, the last 600 in 36 seconds even, which trainer Roydon Bergerson was very happy with.

Too Sweet will contest Saturday's Group 3 Gold Trail Stakes (1200m) for three-year-old fillies.

Bergerson was keeping his fingers crossed for a good barrier, hinting that the filly probably won't run if she draws wide.

Showbastian Coe and Kereti were paired over 1000m of their own, covering the distance in 1.7.7, the last 600 in 38.6.

Their stablemates Intention and Rushin Home went earlier and gathered speed from the 1000m to finish with 800m in 54.2, the last 600 in 40.1.

Intention was unplaced when resuming on a heavy-9 at Taupo two or three weeks ago, but has come through the race well. She is now being set for the Canterbury Belle Stakes (1200m) at Riccarton on Saturday week.

Kosta was given an easy 600m in 42.6, and stablemate Ima Brazen One was kept to 44.2.

On the heavy plough, nothing worked better than maiden five-year-old John Doe (by Derryn), who ran 1000m in 1.9.2, increasing the tempo as he went to finish with 600 in 36.9.

His stablemates Freedom Fighter and Sloane Square also took the eye with 1000m in 1.6.4, the final 800m in 51.6 and last 600 in 38.2.

Casta Shadow, from the same barn ran 1000m in 1.7.8 and 52.6, the last 600 in 38.8.

Top jumper Berry The Cash drew plenty of attention with his 1000m in 1.5.7, coming the final 800m in 52.7, the last 600 in 39.6.

Crouch, who resumes at Otaki on Saturday, and Craftsman went together over 1000m in 1.7.1, with the final 800m taking 52.8, the last 600 in 39.2.

Super Gold, trained by Nicky Goss, and Ride The Tide (Marieke Simons) matched strides over 1000m in 1.10.1 and finished with 800m in 54.7, the last 600 in 39 seconds even.

Unraced pair Emoji (by Ocean Park) and Foxton trial winner Moali (by Magna Grecia) were timed 800m in 53.6, the last 600 in 39.1. They are with Lydia Pickford. Benefactor was kept to 57.6 and 40.1.

Keepitinyourwallet, narrowly beaten last start, was sent an easy 1000m in 1.11.9, the last 600 in 40.3, while last-start maiden hurdle winner Keepz Occurring recorded 1.11.7 and 41.6.
