Bold Belle within reach of more success
Hardy mare Bold Belle could be back in winning form this weekend after a solid gallop at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.

The majority of fast work was on the extreme outside of the course proper, on the plough or on the synthetic track. Poor light prevented the timing of a few early gallops.

Bold Belle used the course proper and had senior rider Kavish Chowdhoory aboard over 800m in a smart 47.7, the last 600 in 35.9.

The seven-year-old lost rider Bruno Queiroz at Woodville last start and was lucky not to have been brought down when pacemaker Idyllic fell. She will now run in the open sprint at Otaki on Saturday.

Ribella Rose and Starpello caught the eye when they paired up over 1000m in 1.4.9, with the final 800m taking 50.2, the last 600 in 36.2.

Bradman left 1000m behind in 1.5.1, with his final 800m coming up in 52.3, the last 600 in 36.7. He is heading to the Rangitikei Gold Cup at Otaki.

Danjuro and Sundown Sav went 1000m together in 1.7.1, the last 600 in 36.5, while The Scunner and Derrick recorded 1.7.2 and 36.3.

Tokyodome and Mendacious matched strides over 1000m 1.7.5, the last 600 in 36.8, followed by Rithim and Platinum Sixty Six in 1.8.8 and 36.9.

A Noverre gelding and a Proisir filly, both trained by the Didham partnership, ran 800m in 54.9, the last 600 in 36 seconds even, and their stablemate Shameless Star went alone in 52.8 and 37.3.

Thrilling and Sir Mikki worked right-handed and covered 1200m in 1.22.6, the last 600 in 37.1, and Thrilling will race at Ellerslie on Saturday (r75 2100m).

Punisher, who ran second at long odds last start, and unraced three-year-old filly No Love Lost (by Ribchester) were timed 1000m in 1.9.6, the last 600 in 37.7. No Love Lost debuts on the weekend.

Sotirio and unraced three-year-old filly Sapphire (by Sweynesse) covered 1000m in 1.9.7, the last 600 in 37.5, and Benefactor went alone in 1.9.8 and 37.4.

Last-start maiden winner Timex and Our Giulia went together over 1000m 1.9.9, the last 600 in 38.8, while Cremant, another last-start winner, and Brutiful Lass took 1.10.1 and 38.2.

Top jumper West Coast was sent 1000m in 1.10.2, the last 600 in 38.3, and Keepitinyourwallet clocked 1.11.8 and 38.4.

Cheval de Foudre ended with 800m in 52.9, the last 600 in 38.2, while last-start winners Dark Deluxe and Silent Applause went together in 56.2 and 39.1.

Coney Island had unraced two-year-old gelding Belgard (by Time Test) for a partner over 1000m, being timed the final 800m in 54.4, the last 600 in 39.8. Belgard won a Foxton trial early last month.

Pinkerton put 1000m behind him in 1.9.7, the last 600 in 40 seconds even, and Weneedashock recorded 1.13.4 and 41.2.

On the plough, Showbastian Coe ended with 600m in 40.2, and stablemate Kosta clocked 40.6.

On the synthetic track, unraced three-year-old filly Kiboko (by Darci Brahma) ran 800m in 58.8, the last 600 in 40.4. She won two trials last spring.
