Fast work was held wide out on the course proper or on the plough.

Bold Belle used the course proper and had maiden stablemate Street Appeal for a partner over a smart 1000m in 1.3.2, the last 600 in 34.5.

Bold Belle has gone ahead in leaps and bounds since her resuming sixth in the Lightning Handicap at Trentham three weeks ago, and has certainly put her hand up to be counted for this Saturday's open sprint.

Street Appeal has been freshened since finishing unplaced at Waverley at the end of January.

Maiden three-year-old filly Amiria really caught the eye this morning, working solo over 1000m, being timed her final 800m in 50 seconds even, the last 600 in 35.9.

Pleasing, the last to use the course proper, gathered speed from the 1000m to finish with 800m in 54.7, the last 600 in 38 seconds even, while Otaki acceptor Derrick (mdn 1400m), in similar work, clocked 54.6 and 38.7.

Belardo Boy, who has not raced since mid-December, went 1000m in 1.9.7, the last 600 in 39.2, and he is bearing down on $500,000 in stake money.
