Unscripted, Jestin Case, Starpello and Ocean Melody, all from the stable of Lisa Latta, worked in great fashion at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.

Too Sweet and Charlotte's Way lost no kudos working right-handed.

Fast work took place on the middle of the new course proper, on the plough or on the synthetic track.

Unscripted and Jestin Case used the course proper and reeled off 1000m in 1.5.1, with the final 800m taking 47.7, the last 600 in 35.1.

Starpello and Ocean Melody were paired over the same distance in 1.6.7, finishing with 800m in 48.4, the last 600 in 35.5, which was solid work for maidens.

Too Sweet and Charlotte's Way went right-handed over 1000m in 1.7.5, the last 600 in 35.6, while Pepeha and Afterthought took 1.2.4 and 36.3. Wolverine and Our Giulia posted 1.2.5 and 36.2.

Main Street and jumper Kentucky Boy caught the eye with their 1000m in 1.3.4, the last 600 in 36.3, followed soon after by Gum Basher and Lucullan in 1.3.9 and 36 seconds even.

Thrilling, whose fifth placing in the NZ Oaks last month was full of merit, had Mr Miyagi for a partner over 1000m in 1.6.1, the last 600 in 36.8. Lemaitre and Niemi recorded 1.6.8 and 37.6.

Manifique, a likely contender for the Canterbury Gold Cup on Saturday week, worked alone over 1000m in 1.7.1, the last 600 in 37 seconds even.

Town Cryer, heading to the Travis Stakes at Te Rapa the same day, ran 1000m in 1.8.6, the last 600 in 37.7, while Golden Lining and Dark Deluxe took 1.9.7 and 38.5.

On the plough, steeplechaser Super Spirit took the time honours with 1000m in 1.4.1, covering the final 800m in 50.8, the last 600 in 37.3.

Linara and Opawa Scarlett matched strides over 1000m in 1.5.9 and finished with 800m in 51.6, the last 600 in 37.4.

Ardee Boy had Victortheinflictor alongside over 1000m in 1.10.3, the last 600 in 37.1, while Showbastian Coe and Papa Surf went 800m in 53.1 and 38.8. Textbook and Keepz Occurring, both trained by Lydia Pickford, ended with 600m in 38.9.

Ride The Tide, not seen since the spring, had trainer Marieke Simons aboard over 1000m in 1.8.3, the last 600 in 39.9, while Craftsman and unraced Redwood gelding Keepitinypourwallet went 800m in 54.2 and 39.4.

Super Gold, an Awapuni trial winner last week, had trainer Nicky Goss in the saddle over 1000m in 1.11.2, the last 600 in 40.8, and a Per Incanto mare trained by Lydia Pickford ended with 600m in 41.6. Smokin Mo clocked 41.7.

Unraced two-year-old gelding Bit By Bit (by Turn Me Loose), in the Pickford barn, went an easy 800m in 59.4, the last 600 in 42.1, while Silent Applause and Rithim did little more than three-quarter pace, ending with 600m in 46.2.

On the synthetic track, last-start maiden winner Kosta was kept to 800m in 54.2, the last 600 in 39.9, and his stablemate Pleasing took 54.6 and 40.3.
