My Alibi and unraced three-year-old filly Sapphire gathered speed from the 1000m (1.11.1) to finish with 800m in 52.3, the last 600 in 36.7. Sapphire (by Sweynesse) has been placed at the trials.
Can Do, from the Didham stable, and Eales-trained Sotirio were paired over 1000m in 1.7.5, completing the final 800m in 50.1, the last 600 in 36.9.
Silent Applause had stablemate Identikit for a partner over 1000m in 1.7.7, with the final 800m taking 53.8, the last 600 in 37.4.
Benefactor and two-year-old filly Platinum La Danse left 1000m behind in 1.8.4, the last 600 in 37.5. Platinum La Danse (by Noverre), was unplaced on debut in February in her only race so far, but has since been placed at the Foxton trials.
Sevenayes and unraced two-year-old stablemate Caliber (by Armory) ran 1000m in 1.8.7, the last 600 in 37.1.
Rocking Light worked over 2000m, being timed his final 1000m in 1.10.1, the last 600 in 38.8, and Bradman was kept to 1.11.7 and 38.5. Pure Shores and a Ribchester filly, both trained by Samantha Finnegan, sprinted 600m in 38.9.
Tsarista, beaten on debut in late April, and a Proisir filly stablemate, both with Roydon Bergerson, went 600m in 39 seconds even.
Sweettest (by Time Test) ran 1000m in 1.16.6, the last 600 in 41.3, and her stablemate Super Flash, second in a Wanganui steeplechase last start. took 1.14.6 and 42.1. He is in the open chase on Saturday.
