Vee Vee and his maiden stablemate Our Giulia are building nicely for pending engagements, judging by a very satisfactory gallop at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.

Fast work was held on the synthetic track or on the plough (good). Levin jump-outs were scheduled for later in the day.

Vee Vee and Our Giulia (by Savabeel) used the synthetic track and went together over 1000m in 1.8.8, the last 600 in 37.4.

Both horses have been ticking over since they were placed at the Foxton trials just before New Year and Vee Vee is capable of a bold run fresh up at Otaki on Sunday.

Pepeha gathered speed from the 1000m to finish with 800m in 56.2, the last 60 in 40.4, and is ready to pay a dividend on Sunday as well.

On the plough, Thursday's Tauherenikau acceptor Felucca (r65 f&m 1000m) and Omega Boy were paired over 1000m in 1.7.2, the last 600 in 37.9. Felucca cleared maidens three starts ago and can be excused her last two runs.

Two-year-old gelding Our Sniper, third in both his races so far, and Platinum Designs matched strides over 1000m in 1.8.2, the last 600 in 38.3. Final Chapter, working alone, posted 1.9.6 and 38.8. They are all heading to Tauherenikau.

Saturday's Herbie Dyke entrant He's A Doozy had Sunday entrant Rev It Up Rusty for a partner over 1000m in 1.8.1, the last 600 in 39.1, while their stablemates Get Funky and Rogue Romance, two more down for Thursday, took 1.7.1 and 39 seconds even.

Silent Applause, fourth on debut last month, and stablemate Honoka were timed 800m in 54.8, the last 600 in 40.1. They are both in Lisa Latta's barn, and Silent Applause is in on Sunday. Top mare Manifique (Wairarapa Breeders' Stakes) went alone in 56.8 and 41.5.

Two-year-old filly Brutiful Lass, on debut this Thursday after a win at the jump-outs and a second at the trials, went with Mr Miyagi (Sunday) over an even 1000m in 1.12.6, the last 600 in 41.2, and Havarti was kept to 1.15.9 and 42.1.
