Fast work was on the extreme outside of the course proper, with just one trial recorded on the synthetic track. Poor light prevented the timing of some gallops.

Underfoot conditions were perfect as horses prepared for Trentham (Thursday), Awapuni (Friday) or Waverley (Saturday). 

Testing and Turn It Up used the course proper and reeled off 1000m in 1.4.4, with the final 800m taking 49.4, the last 600 in 36.2. Testing resumes at Waverley with a recent trial win under the belt, and goes well fresh.

Audax (by The Bold One) and Sapphire (by Sweynesse), three-year-olds with Matthew Eales in at Waverley, really caught the eye with their 1000m in 1.4.7, the last 600 in 36.4.

Pinkerton worked on his own over 1000m with amateur rider Skye du Plessis aboard in 1.5.1, the last 600 in 36.3. She will ride him at Trentham on Thursday.

My Alibi and unraced three-year-old Breaker Bay (by Embellish) covered 1000m in 1.5.2, the last 600 in 36.6. Breaker Bay finished second at the Foxton trials last week.

Sevenayes, trained by Mike Breslin, and Zackery (Matthew Eales) were paired over 1000m in 1.6.1, the last 600 in 36.7, while Daiwa Explorer and Zetel from the Gray stable were almost identical with 1.6.2 and 36.7.

McKhan, back in winning form last start, had trainer Ashley Meadows in the saddle over 1000m in 1.6.6, the last 600 in 36.6. He has fashioned an enviable record.

John Doe left 1000m behind in 1.7.7, the last 600 in 36.8, and Dancing Shadow posted 1.8.4 and 36.5. Ima Brazen One took 1.7.5 and 37 seconds even.

Sir Mikki and Knickerless matched strides over 1000m in 1.5.8, the last 600 in 37.5, and Subtle Image, who will wear blinkers on Friday, went alone in 1.6.9 and 37.2.

Their maiden stablemates Homeland and Brian ran 1000m in 1.7.2, the last 600 in 37.5, and Farravallo, working alone, recorded 1.7.2 and 37.8.

Share Power and Cry Baby went 1000m in 1.8.5, the last 600 in 37.6, while Popinjay and Al Passo gathered speed from the 1000m to finish with 800m in 54.6, the last 600 in 37.8. Keepitinyourwallet, in similar work, clocked 53.6 and 37.3.

Deadly Pony did nice, even work over 1000m in 1.7.7, the last 600 in 38.1, and Pepeha was almost identical with 1.7.7 and 38.2. Bee Precious from the Newman barn took 1.7.8 and 38.4.

Galeforce had Keepz Occurring alongside throughout 1000m in 1.8.1, the last 600 in 38.3, and Redana went alone in 1.8.4 and 38.5.

Wonderboy and Our Giulia were locked together over 1000m in 1.8.6, the last 600 in 38.1, while Kosta and Call A Friend came up with 1.9.4 and 38.8.

Platinum Sixty Six and Belzoni cruised over 1000m in 1.9.7, the last 600 in 38.7, followed soon  after by Danjuro and Offertory in 1.10.8 and 38.9.

Sweettest worked alone over 1000m in 1.8.1, the last 600 in 39.4, as did Sotiro in 1.9.2 and 39.1. They race at Trentham.

Identikit and Ocean Melody were paired over 1000m in 1.8.8, the last 600 in 39.5, with their stablemates Love Janie and Cremant taking 1.9.2 and 39.3.

Rocking Light and Sloane Square were kept to 1000m in 1.9.7, the last 600 in 39.8, while East End Lad and Donnybrook ended with 800m in 56.7 and 39.9.

Gray-trained mare Our Akashinga did 800m in 56.9, the last 600 in 40.8, and her stablemate Great Escape posted 57.2 and 40.7.

Street Appeal, who will race in side-winkers on Friday, was timed 1000m in 1.10.2, the last 600 in 40.6, while Can Do and Victortheinflictor went together in 1.13.3 and 40.1. Weneedashock ended with 41.2.

Bradman was kept to 800m in 56.8, the last 600 in 42.6, and Wind Talker ended 1000m with 600 in 42.9.

On the synthetic track, Dazz gathered speed from the 1000m (1.15.4) to finish with 600 in 38.9.
