Whatsinyourwallet, owner-trained by Stephen Mercer, and Keeping Time and Redana from the Lisa Latta barn all worked in great style at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.
Fast work was held on the plough or on the synthetic track.
The above all used the plough, with Whatsinyourwallet covering 1000m on his own in 1.5.7, the last 600 in 36.5.
Keeping Time and Redana went together over the same distance in 1.5.6 and 36.9. All three are poised to clear maidens at short notice.
Poppy’s Girl and three-year-old maiden Croix De Guerre (by War Decree) were on terms throughout 1000m in 1.7.1, the last 600 in 37.5.
Their stablemates Opawa Scarlett and four-year-old entire Linara (by Lonhro) were timed their 1000m in 1.7.3, the last 600 in 37.4.
Linara has had four starts, one in Australia and three in NZ for a second and two thirds.
Last-start synthetic winner Sailor Jack did a quiet round before galloping 1000m in 1.7.2, the last 600 in 38.8, and My Father’s Gun did 800m in 53.6 and 38.9.
Lovehelen and Rev It Up Rusty were paired over 1000m in 1.11.8, the last 600 in 39.5, and Lurid did two quiet rounds with a 600m sprint at the end of each one in 43.1 and 39.6 respectively.
On the synthetic track, Prince Revolution and a Contributer gelding gathered speed from the 1000m (1.9.4) to complete the final 800m in 49.5, the last 600 in 36.6.
Queen Of Spades did a strong round and a half before sprinting home 600m in 36.1.
French Doll and Sand Point matched strides over 1000m in 1.5.5, the last 600 in 37.7, while their stablemates Showbastian Coe, Donnybrook and Dapper Dan all went together in 1.5.9 and 37.6.
Shirley Temple and Call A Friend left 1000m behind in 1.8.3, the last 600 in 37.4. Sevenayes and Rushin Home, two more from that barn, ran 800m in 53.9, the last 600 in 39 seconds even.
Broonzy (by Toronado), a four-year-old maiden winner in Australia last autumn, and a Vespa gelding sprinted 600m in 41.4. Broonzy is now with Mike Breslin.
